Today I answer your questions about Juice Fasting / Juice Feasting. Because I host a 10-Day Juice Fasting Groupevery month, I always recieve a lot of emails asking me all sorts of questions about Juice Fasting– so here’s some answers!!
Last week I received quite a few emails from people asking me how not to gain the weight back that they lost from doing a fast or a juice feast. I’ve also been hosting a 10 Day Juice Fast (click here to sign up for the next one!!), and this topic also came up in discussion at the beginning of the fast. I know that many people run into the delema of gaining the weight back after a fast– mostly because they don’t break the fast gradually, and may even eat some heavily processed foods that their body isn’t ready to digest– we’ve all heard the stories out there of people breaking water fast with pizza– how terrible is that!!!
So, if you plan to do a fast or juice feast, you must be prepared on how you are going to break the fast and what type of diet you are going to take on afterwards. If you plan to continue gaining benefits from the fast and see it as a jump start to your long term healthy lifestyle, I am confident you will make the right dietary decisions and the weight won’t come piling back on. In fact I know many people that actually continued to lose weight after fasting!!!
But if you are the type of person that has strong patterns of binge eating and going to the extreme with food– I wouldn’t suggest doing fasts, instead I would suggest you concentrate on improving your existing diet and continue working on that.

I was asked what I thought of powdered wheatgrass. So today I decided to talk about powdered greens in general– what I think of them. I prefer fresh greens, fresh wheatgrass juice, etc.. I will take anything fresh over the powdered stuff, but I do feel there is a place for the powdered greens. So today I talk about when I use the powdered greens, what to look out for when buying a product, and when it could actually come in handy.

Yesterday I talked about supplements, today I talk about ‘Superfoods!!’ I get a lot of emails asking me what my opinion is on superfoods– are they really that great?!!!! I don’t necessarily believe that superfoods have supernatural nutritional power– but I do believe there is a place for them in a healthy diet. They offer variety and can help people transition to raw. Whatever you are doing that helps you continue eating healthy food— continue doing it!!
