  1. Natasha- Thank you for having the courage to do what is necessary to protect your health. For so long you have been such an incredible source of inspiration for many of us, and this just increases our admiration for you. I have been following your videos from way back and it has been obvious that recently your health has been suffering. I am so relieved that you are not just being dogmatic but are taking care of your precious self. What you have to offer is so much greater than just food advice. It’s the integrity of your journey, and the stark honesty and intelligence with which you reflect and then present yourself that is really the profound gift. You have always modeled how to overcome extreme physical challenges by really tuning into your body’s needs, and this is just the next step in the journey. It would have been unbearable to watch if you had not come to this decision. A great BD gift to yourself, and as always a gift to the rest of us.
    You are loved and appreciated…………Lee

  2. Natasha,
I’m so glad that you are taking care of yourself. This video was very emotional to watch, I could see in your eyes and hear in your voice that you are struggling with this. I am so happy that you checked your B12 levels when you did. Because of you I checked mine recently. I’ve learned so much from you over the past few years. You are strong, wise and caring. Thank you for sharing this with us, it took a lot of courage.

  3. Hi Natasha,

I think its wonderful that you would put your health first, you should take care of yourself so don’t feel bad. I also wanted to thank you because I had been toying with the idea of going completely raw but because of the B-12 deficiency I don’ think I will now. I am eat a lot of raw food and I am thinking about doing a juice detox, but my juicing combinations aren’t all that good!! LOL I need some work on recipes and maybe bye a book. I struggle with consuming meat because of the quality and the hormone and being a single mother its more in my budget jus not to eat it. I don’t know how I will get my B-12 yet because to be honest I really don’t know if I could eat meat. I like fish, but can’t afford organic fresh fish and to be frank I don’t know where to buy it. Thanks for being honest and good luck to you.

  4. Natasha,

I’m currently overweight, fighting some minor health issues and have several food addictions I’m overcoming. I found you on youtube and in January 2011 started a new way of eating thanks to your wonderful guidance. I’ve got a long ways to go, by my new philosophy is eat raw as much as possible, if I fail there for a meal try to eat vegetarian, and if I fail at eating raw and vegetarian for meal, try to eat organic, local, grass fed animal proteins. But absolutely eat NO processed foods designed for corporate profit and not my body’s health! Anyway, when I saw your videos about B-12 deficiency, at first, I was a little concerned . . . I mean I’m really putting a lot of trust in your recommendations! HOWEVER, by the time I was done watching your B12 videos I realized just how REAL you are and that makes me trust you even MORE!

Thanks for being so honest and PLEASE keep on keeping it real.

  5. You are a amazing… Your videos have helped me increase the amount of raw food I eat and I am slowly getting my health back. I have been using cronometer.com to track my diet and nutrition. I eat fish and some dairy and can see how challenging it is to eat enough foods to meet daily iron and B12 needs. You are a wonderful example of health and an excellent motivator! Please take care of yourself and keep the videos coming…you are making a huge impact.

  6. Natasha – I found your site while doing some research for my dad who has a very low vitamin b12 as well. He is taking b12 injections regularly now but they don’t seem to be doing a whole lot for him yet (maybe it’s not been long enough – he’s been taking them for around 2 months now). Do you have any other recommendations for vitamin b12 supplements besides the injections that you may have used in the past? I know that you are trying to change your diet from vegetarian (and buddhist on top of that) to start eating some animal products and I commend you on your courage! Wishing you much success to your health! Thanks for the inspiration…
