A very common question that comes up a lot about the raw food diet is ‘how much fat should someone be eating?’ I have to honestly say its an individual thing depending on a person’s constitution, how healthy they are, what their metabolism is like, where they live, how stressful their lifestyle is, how active they are, etc.. Besides all that– I do believe everyone needs fat in their diet–unfortunately many raw vegans either get too little fat in their diet, or too much. We need to eat foods with fats for our body to function optimally– especially because certain fats like EFA (Esssential Fatty Acids) like Omega 3s and 6s can’t be made by the body– we have to get it from our food. There is a reason why they are called ‘Essential’!!!
So in today’s epsode I talk about my recommendations as to how much fat someone should be eating (from nuts, seeds, avocados, coconut meat), what to watch out for if you purchase oils, what are the signs and symptoms of someone that is eating too much raw fats or too little, and how to eat fats to digest and assimilate it properly.
