A lot of times we associate happiness with reaching our goals. The so-called, “Once I get ___, I will be happy” Does that really happen? I know for myself that the moment I make my happiness depend on something outside myself and something far off in the future, I am setting myself up for disaster.
I’ve also seen how people reach their goals even quicker when they do the opposite– they determine to be happy right now and to enjoy the process. Weight loss, changing one’s diet, getting healthy– these thing don’t have to be a torturous experience– in fact it can be the opposite.
I always think about how ‘Time flies when you are having fun.” The same is true with everything— things happen and they happen quick when you are having a good time!
So I’ve been asked if raw foodists drink alcohol, and if so, what kind? Well, if you are on a raw food diet you can drink wine, and some do, and some don’t!!! Me personally, I hardly drink– but… that doesn’t mean I don’t go out. I still go to parties, to bars, to night clubs, and my friends all drink!! I still have a great time (in fact I probably have an even better time because I remember everything and wake up the next morning with no hangover and clear as can be!!). So from my experience over the years of being social and not drinking, I’ve come up with many creative ways of dealing with social situations and pressures to drink and how to get around it that you can still go out and have fun, minus the hangover!
