We all know there is a reason why junk food is called comfort food– and therefore we also know why we crave it and reach for it in tough times. These foods can have a soothing and numbing effect on us. Its difficult when one gets on a raw food diet because all of a sudden we no longer have these dulling foods and suddenly we have to face ourselves, our lives and sometimes its really not at all comfortable. I know, I’ve been there!!

So what do we do when we are feeling vulnerable, when the cravings start kicking in and the emotion are too much to bear?

Journaling Ideas & Stress Reduction, Ep47

Happy Monday Everyone!

On an episode last week I talked about the importance of ‘checking in’ with yourself and how writing in a journal always helps me gain perspective on what’s going on in my life and is also a fantastic tool to help reduce stress, anxiety, depression, grief and anger. Over the weekend I received an email asking me how I keep a journal, what do I write about and what are some questions I ask myself on a daily basis. I loved the question, so I decided to base today’s episode all on journaling.

In order to be radiantly healthy, we’ve got to have all areas of our life supported and strong, so along with our diet and fitness– our emotional, mental and spiritual health are just as important.

The other day I talked about the physical side of binge eating– how not eating enough during the day can lead to over eating at night. Well today I decided to talk about the emotional side of binge eating, what I call ‘comfort eating!’ We’ve all been there at some point in our lives and some of us can take it or leave it, while others rely on it as a best friend that is there for every stress and upset. We are all on our own unique paths, and nothing is set in stone– change & transformations happen every day. So today’s episode is all about emotional eating and how to stop it in its tracks.
